athlete³ is a company "For triathletes by triathletes". We understand the compulsion and obsession of being a triathlete! Working training into an already busy life, dodging spousal complaints about time spent doing "triathlons", the strange looks from family and friends as you recount the struggles and stories from your endeavors…. Not to mention the madness of motorists while trying to log that long ride! We get it! Our products are designed to help you tell the world about your passion without looking like a walking billboard! Our products range from subtle to in your face triathlon apparel and merchandise. We are always interested in what our fellow triathletes would like to see us carry…. No idea is too "out there", so let us know. If we have something that is just plain silly, tell us that as well. We are here to feed the addiction!

Kelly Mitchell is the mother of two delightful triathl'ettes', ages 12 and 13. After receiving a BA in French from Salem College, Kelly lived two of her dreams by attending La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine (Yes, that means cooking school!) in Paris and then opened a successful restaurant in Raleigh. She eventually sold her restaurant and turned her energy towards a new challenge -- endurance sports. She competed in several marathons before becoming a triathlete. Kelly is an Ironman finisher having competed in IM Florida in 2005. Kelly's love for triathlons and the triathlon lifestyle led her to co-found/name Athlete3. Now that she is a triathlete, Kelly is survived by her loving husband (and author of this bio,) Mike Mitchell. She also has a yellow lab named Ellie.
